From humble beginnings in the tough world of off road racing in Australia, to now being respected world wide, OME takes a unique approach to the design, development, testing and support of our product range. Many of OME customers love toughing it off road, and this can vary from endless hours, even days, of flat, yet corrugated dirt roads to hardcore, deeply rutted, rock strewn off road tracks. At the other end of the spectrum there are the four wheel drive owners who have no intention of tackling anything remotely off road. Instead, they’re looking for dramatically increased ride comfort on the bitumen or to give them access to their weekend property or their favourite, out of the way fishing spot. Old Man Emu caters to the entire spectrum of customer & vehicle requirements. Shocks Vehicle suspension, especially that fitted to 4WDs, is complex to say the least. ARB's engineers have been refining leaf spring design for over 20 years, and have the experience to know just what it takes to produce the very best leaf sprung suspension for your 4x4. A great leaf spring design is all very well, but the most important function is to be able to reproduce that design first time, every time, in production. This is where Old Man Emu really comes to the fore. All OME springs, be they leaf or coil, are designed with production consistency in mind. To have a great spring you must first design it to have minimum stress, this, obviously, significantly increases the spring's life. Secondly, you must manufacture the springs with processes that ensure consistency. From the materials used, to the camber dies that make the spring, to the heat treatment that sets the spring, Old Man Emu's manufacturing techniques and quality control are second to none. Regardless of your vehicle choice and its original equipment suspension specification, OME can supply an integrated suspension system that will transform its ride and handling characteristics both on & off the road. The same detail is applied to the design & manufacture of our coil springs as for our leaf spring range. ARB's attention to detail ensures that every individual coil spring part number is carefully matched to the corresponding shock absorber part numbers to work as a fully integrated system. Fitting a set of OME coil springs in conjunction with a set of Old Man Emu Nitrocharger or LTR shock absorbers will instantly result in improved towing capability, genuine GVM load carrying capability, enhanced off road traction and excellent on road comfort. Greasable Shackles
By greasing the shackle pin friction is greatly reduced, and so is the operating temperature, ensuring longevity of the bush. The grease will dissipate with work, time, the action of water, sand and mud, thereby necessitating regreasing. With standard shackles this requires a lengthy, time consuming process of removing the bushes from the vehicle to allow regreasing of the pins and bushes. Old Man Emu greasable shackles allow the greasing of bushes without the hassles of removing the springs. Greasing OME shackles takes no more time than 5 minutes and requires nothing more than a grease gun and a molybdenum based grease (available through OME). The grease is pumped through the grease nipple into the pin and up the center where it is forced through two outlet holes with four openings at the bush - giving maximum lubrication at the pin and bush contact surfaces. Steering Stablizers
Steering stabilizers are usually fitted forward of the front differential making them prone to rocks and other damage. Old Man Emu stabilizers feature a twin tube design and heavy gauge steel stone guard to help resist stone damage. Features
